Tiffany Almon

Tiffany Almon has served the students of Denver Public Schools as an educator for twelve years and is currently the Principal at Kennedy.

Tiffany values Community, Integrity, Family, Communication, and Equitable Education for All. Tiffany has strong communication skills, leads with a humble heart, and listens to and implements feedback from families, students, and staff. She believes that we are stronger together and that all students have the potential to thrive when they have the right tools, confidence, and support.

During Tiffany’s tenure at Hill, the school increased from red to green on the SPF, parent and student satisfaction survey data improved, and equity gaps in math and language arts were reduced. Tiffany has dedicated her work to creating and refining culture systems, celebrating students and staff, developing and sustaining multi-tiered systems of support  (MTSS),  implementing the Relay model for coaching teachers and facilitating data meetings, and collaborating with her Principal to build the capacity of the Leadership Team. Tiffany works with a team of teachers and Senior Team Leads to build an Equity Team and work with students to not only have a voice in their education but also begin to develop a deeper understanding of their own cultures. Additionally, Tiffany successfully led the launch of the MyTech 1:1 Chromebook program to provide 100% of our students with access to online learning opportunities at school and at home, she collaborated with a team of teachers to cultivate an advisory period where students can connect with peers and their advisor and receive extra support in classes.

Prior to joining the Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences community, Tiffany was the Math Fellow Coordinator for West Leadership Academy and West Early College. During her three years as a Coordinator, Tiffany hired, trained, coached, developed, and led twenty Math Fellows as the team made a substantial impact on the middle school students’ confidence and math skills as evidenced by their outstanding growth. Additionally, Tiffany also wrote assessments for the Math Fellow curriculum and contributed to the creation and revision of the Math Fellow training program. Tiffany attributes the success of the Math Fellow program at West to building rock-solid relationships with students and their families, creating powerful learning environments in which students feel safe to take academic risks, and delivering exemplary math instruction that requires students to take ownership of their learning.

Tiffany is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and has been living in Colorado since 2003. In 2002, Tiffany graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. She had aspirations of becoming a Forest Ranger or a Wildlife Biologist, but after taking a life-changing position as a Backcountry Field Instructor for Alternative Youth Adventures, a wilderness therapy program for adjudicated youth, she was inspired to earn her secondary science teaching credential from Western State Colorado University. Tiffany taught science at Morey Middle School for six years. During this time, Tiffany was recognized as a Mile High Teacher and earned her Principal’s Licensure and Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.

Tiffany and her husband, Jonathan, live in Golden with their son Jackson and their dog, Indy. They are fortunate to be surrounded by a dense network of extremely supportive and loving family and friends. Jonathan works as the librarian and technology teacher at Steck Elementary. They enjoy hiking, skiing, and spending time with loved ones, and would love to add immersing and learning in the JFK community to that list.

Tiffany Almon ha servido a los estudiantes de las Escuelas Públicas de Denver como educadora durante doce años, actualmente es la directora de JFK. Valora a la comunidad, la integridad, la familia, la comunicación y una educación equitativa para todos. Tiffany cuenta con sólidas destrezas de comunicación y es una líder humilde de corazón que escucha e implementa las sugerencias de las familias, estudiantes y miembros del personal. Tiffany nació en Pittsburgh, PA, y ha vivido en Colorado desde 2003. En 2002, se graduó en Pennsylvania State University con el título de licenciada en Ciencias de Vida Silvestre y Pesca. Tiffany y su esposo, Jonathan, viven en Golden con su hijo Jackson y su perro Indy.
