Hola everyone, My name is Alma Pena-Tavizon, I was born and grew up in a small town in Durango, Mexico. I came to the United States when I was 17 years old. I graduated from West High school in 2006. I worked at East high school as a special education paraprofessional for two years while I was completing a practical nursing program at the Community College of Denver and I discovered my passion for teaching and education. I graduated from MSU Denver in May 2023 and I’m so excited to start working at JFK High school as one of the Language Acquisition teachers. I will support the students and help them accomplish their educational goals.
