Eric is pleased to start his third year as Dean of Instruction at John F. Kennedy High School. He has worked in public schools in the United States and abroad for 25 years as an elementary school teacher, a high school English Language Development (ELD) teacher, and as an assistant principal. Eric is very excited to help facilitate the roll out of our new Spanish/English Dual Language program at Kennedy this year!
Eric has spent his career working in Title 1 schools serving multilingual language learners. Eric began his teaching journey in Washington Heights in New York City. For the majority of his DPS career, he has worked in schools in southwest Denver. He has worked at Kaiser Elementary and Doull Elementary, where he served as assistant principal from 2012-2015. Eric has twin 18-year-old boys, Harry and Jesse, who started college this fall in Colorado and California. Eric’s wife, Kim Dvorchak, is the executive director of the National Association of Counsel for Children, based in Denver. Eric grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and attended Dickinson College (BA), the University of Pennsylvania (MA), Mercy College (MA), and the University of Denver (principal licensure). In his free time, Eric enjoys cycling, running, spending time with his family, drinking coffee, and eating chocolate.
