My name is Melissa Paniagua MSN, RN, NCSN. I have been a Registered Nurse for 17 years, working in the hospital, community health, and physician offices before coming to DPS in 2015. I spent the last five years on the Kepner Community Campus, primarily working with middle schoolers. I am excited to work with the High School population at John F. Kennedy this year and learn the challenges of this age group. I love being a school nurse and have found my niche!

I received my AAS- Associate of Applied Sciences in Nursing from Arapahoe Community College in 2004, a BSN- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Metropolitan State University at Denver in 2012, my MSN- Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Public Health from Grand Canyon University in December 2021. In the fall of 2019, I became nationally certified as a school nurse, adding NCSN after my name. I feel you should never stop learning and continually seek opportunities to broaden your knowledge base.

In what little free time I have, I am a mom to 2 teenagers, completed my black belt in taekwondo in May 2022, and love my puppies, nature photography, astronomy, and the outdoors. I speak Spanish with about 75% fluency and am studying ASL, and American Sign Language, to work more with students with special needs or hearing impairments.

Mi nombre es Melissa Paniagua MSN, RN, NCSN. He sido enfermera registrada durante 17 años, trabajando en hospitales, salud comunitaria y consultorios médicos antes de llegar a DPS en 2015. Pasé los últimos cinco años en el campus comunitario de Kepner, trabajando principalmente con estudiantes de secundaria. Estoy emocionado de trabajar con la población de la escuela secundaria John F. Recibí mi AAS- Asociado en Ciencias Aplicadas en Enfermería de Arapahoe Community College en 2004, una BSN- Licenciatura en Ciencias en Enfermería de la Universidad Estatal Metropolitana de Denver en 2012, mi MSN- Maestría en Ciencias en Enfermería con énfasis en Salud Pública de Grand Canyon University en diciembre de 2021. En el otoño de 2019, obtuve la certificación nacional como enfermera escolar y agregué NCSN después de mi nombre. Siento que nunca debe dejar de aprender y buscar continuamente oportunidades para ampliar su base de conocimientos.

En el poco tiempo libre que tengo, soy madre de 2 adolescentes, completé mi cinturón negro en taekwondo en mayo de 2022 y amo a mis cachorros, la fotografía de naturaleza, la astronomía y el aire libre. Hablo español con un 75% de fluidez y estoy estudiando ASL y lenguaje de señas americano para trabajar más con estudiantes con necesidades especiales o discapacidades auditivas.
