Hello! My name is Kelly Brick and I am proud to say I have been a part of the Commander family for over 20 years. Currently, you can find me in Room 426 teaching in the CTE MedConnect Pathway (Health/Medical Science Honors and IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science). Prior moving into CTE full time, I taught Physical Education. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a Certified Athletic Trainer which is an allied healthcare professional who is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, care and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses that occur as a result of being active. My educational background includes a BA in Athletic Training from North Central College in Naperville, IL, an MS in Sports Health Care from AT Still University in Mesa, AZ, and in addition to my license in Athletic Training, I also carry a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I love to be able to help our students on their journey towards a career in the healthcare and medical fields! I believe the best way to experience education is by being involved in activities outside of the classroom, and to that end, I am the advisor of HOSA (our student organization for future healthcare professionals) and the National Honor Society, as well as being the proud “Mama Duck” of our JROTC Honor Platoon.
Away from JFK, you will find me spending time with my family (husband – Travis and 5 year old son – Matthew) and extended family. Together we love to travel – in Colorado, around the country, and have even started exploring Europe together. I have a tremendous love of all things Disney (we like to visit there too!), Star Wars, and sports.
Looking forward to another great school year. As always – reach out if you have any questions!
