Hi JFK Commanders! I am a WellPower school-based therapist at JFK High School. I am so grateful to be a part of this community! A bit of background, I received an undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and a Master of Counseling degree from Regis University. Prior to my role as a school-based therapist, I worked with incarcerated youth for 5 ½ years at Lookout Mountain and Mount View Youth Services Center. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this population and strived to promote self-advocacy, integrity, healthy communication, trauma informed care, interventions to decrease aggression, self-harm, and substance use, and help youth build skills to engage in pro-social relationships and activities with the goal of reducing recidivism. As well as being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’m also a Licensed Addictions Counselor and hope to use this skill set to decrease the risk of addiction and substance use engagement among our youth/students.
