We are excited to announce that Victoria Wyatt has been selected as the next leader at John F. Kennedy High School for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. Ninth Grade Academy
We want to welcome all incoming ninth graders and their parents/guardians to John F. Kennedy High School (JFK). To assist in the transition from middle school to a successful high school experience, JFK, along with the other DPS high schools, will be hosting a Ninth Grade Academy for incoming students. This exciting, fun, and informative program will last four days and all of John F. Kennedy High School’s incoming ninth grade students are invited and encouraged to attend.
Ninth Grade Academy will prepare your student for high school before high school begins!
During the Ninth Grade Academy, students will:
- Learn ways to succeed in high school, such as understanding graduation requirements and the importance of a GPA and reading transcripts.
- Meet school staff and other JFK students.
- Earn 2.5 elective credits for completing the NGA and receive a small backpack with school materials.
- Participate in engaging activities designed specifically for JFK students.

Online Registration for 2024-25
Save time by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return. All SchoolChoice applicants must have an accepted seat prior to registering their student. Select one of the windows available to register your student(s) online for 2024-25:
- The “Early Bird” window, May 6-24
- Current year, late July-August
To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.
