Bag Policies

All City Bag Policy:

  • Bags are discouraged. 
  • Bags are subject to search and metal detection devices. 

Home Game Bag Policy:

  • Bags are subject to a security search 

Athletic Participation Check List

Athletic Participation Checklist:

  • Valid Physical (Physicals are good for 365 days and must be on file at school) upload into FamilyID registration
  • Online Registration through FamilyID
  • $60 DPS Athletic Online Fee (must be paid online during FamilyID registration)
  • $10 for free/reduced lunch qualifying families

All these requirements must be met before an athlete can practice OR play.  

Students with Free or Reduced Lunch Benefits:

  • Signed Parent Agreement for the DPS Athletic Scholarship Program
  • $10 Online AND Proof of Free/Reduced Lunch Status (One of the Following):
  • Copy of Free/Reduced Lunch Approval Letter from DPS OR Signed Authorization form

Eligibility – Grades 

In order for an athlete to be marked as initially eligible to begin competition for the season, they must have no more than 1 F on the certification (or recertification) date for their selected sport.

  • Every athlete’s grades will be checked each Thursday. To maintain weekly grade eligibility, an athlete must have no more than 2 F’s recorded as progress grades. 

SWOP STUDENTS ONLY (If you attend a school that does not offer a sport you must complete the SWOP form):

TRANSFER STUDENTS ONLY (Does NOT Apply to Incoming 9th Graders):

If you have transferred to JFK from another school (other than 9th graders that have come here from area middle schools at the start of the school year) and this is your first season to participate in a sport at JFK- You MUST complete the transfer process.  Please contact the Athletic Director, Jennifer Montoya, jennifer_montoya@dpsk12.net  for more information on this process.


Practice Overview:

Fall Sports (Cross Country-Coed, Football, Soccer-Boys, Softball, Volleyball, Cheer, & Dance, eSports)

Winter Sports (Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Wrestling and Girls Swimming (combined with Lincoln; at Lincoln)

Spring Sports (Girls Tennis, Boys Volleyball, Baseball, Girls Soccer and Tack & Field)
