Did you know that Saturday December 2nd was National Special Education Day? This day reminds us of the progression that has been made in the United States with regard to Special Education with the initiation of what is now known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Over 22% of our Commander Students have either a 504 plan or an Individualized Education Plan for their documented disabilities. These students are exceptional in so many ways and add to our community with their unique perspectives and ways of navigating the world. All of our students deserve to have equal access to education; and at Kennedy, we strive to provide excellent services for our students with documented disabilities.
