A Message From The Principal

Dear Commander Families,

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, I would like to share a quote by author Alice Walker, “the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any”. As quarter 3 comes to an end, I’d like to remind all students that you hold the power of your education in your hands. Attendance and participation matter! Please attend every class everyday, ask questions, take risks, and make up missed work. Set goals for yourself and utilize advisory and class time wisely to produce quality work. Attend after school tutoring in the JFK Room from 2:45 pm-4:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday if you need a little extra support. Your teachers are here for you and will make time to support you if you reach out!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Lily Valdez, the JFK Outstanding Female Athlete for 22-23. She was celebrated on Wednesday night for her accomplishments on the court, in the classroom, and as a leader.  Lily is a two sport student-athlete that has lettered 3 times in basketball and in volleyball and was just recently voted as an Honorable Mention All City performer in Basketball. Academically, Lily has earned a 3.97 G.P.A. and is currently working through one of the most rigorous academic programs in DPS, the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme.  Lily is the Class President for 2023 and is also a two year member of the Link Crew. We are so proud of you, Lily!

Please read below for the P/SAT schedule and check our website for Spring athletic events.
