A Message From Principal Almon

Dear Commander Community,

Huge shout out to all the students who took the PSAT and the PSAT/NMSQT and to the Seniors who showed up to take the Accuplacer or complete their Edgenuity! We also loved seeing all the families and students at student-led conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. Please complete this brief survey to provide us with valuable feedback to improve our conferences in the spring.

Jaqueline Lopez-Perez, Jose Banuelos, and Nevaeh Rauch did an incredible job of leading our Superintendent, Dr. Marrero, and his Cabinet on a tour of our school. They were able to hear from our Native Student Advisory, be entertained and impressed by our drumline, cheerleaders, and Honor Platoon, and observe warm, welcoming, and engaging learning experiences in many classrooms around the school.     • Academic Awards Ceremony 7:30 am to 8:30 am 
    • This ceremony is for students who earned an academic achievement in the Spring of 2022.
  • Thursday, October 27th
    • Financial aid night for ALL students interested in learning about FASFA!
    • 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the JFK Room
  • Monday, October 31st
    • Trick-or-Treat Street 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm @ JFK

You have the chance to represent your school through the DPS Superintendent Cabinet! 

The Superintendent Cabinet’s mission is to advance student decision-making and build equitable youth/adult partnerships. Up to three students are eligible for this opportunity!”

Is your junior or senior student interested in serving as an election judge during the midterms this year?

This is a paid opportunity to see democracy in action.

  • Students can earn between $16.50 and $21.00 for their time.

  • To apply, students must be at least 16 years of age, a US citizen, and be in good academic standing.

  • This role will require them to miss school on Tuesday Nov. 8th as they will be working all day at a local polling site. For more information and to apply click here.
