Dear Commander Community,
“When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless, but when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are making things better.” – Maya Angelou.
This quote really hits home for us as we launch into the new school year and all of the engaging activities that make your high school experience memorable and impactful.
Students, we have extracurricular activities for everyone, including the Anime Club, Black Student Alliance, and a variety of sports, including esports, tennis, and flag football. Getting involved not only means joining clubs and sports and attending events like games, the homecoming bonfire, dance, and powder puff game; it also means participating in class by asking questions and advocating for your needs. Please take advantage of your time in advisory to connect with your advisor and fellow students. The advisement class is a space for you to build strong relationships and learn about all of the incredible things offered at Kennedy to help you take command of your future and advocate for your passions.
Parents and families, huge thanks to all of you who were able to join us for Back to School Night. The school-to-home connection is so critical for the success of our students. If you could not attend, do not worry. We have a Commander Conversation Town Hall meeting this Wednesday, the 7th, in our cafeteria or online here. I will provide snacks and update you on important school business, and have an open forum for questions and feedback. I hope to see you there either in person or virtually.
Please read below for more important information to start the year strong and Take Command of Your Future. Have a Commander Kind of Day!
