I grew up with a big family in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) and spent a TON of time on the Delaware shore. During those summers I really developed my love for all things Life Science. I knew I wanted to be a Biology Teacher since 9th grade.
I went to Penn State (WE ARE) for college and earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction afterwards. I’ve taught Middle School and High School, in 3 different states: PA, NC, and CO. I have also taught a variety of classes such as Language acquisition and comprehension, Global Science Studies, Anatomy and Physiology, and of course, Biology.
This will be the start of my 4th year in CO. I love to explore the Mountains, rivers, and reservoirs with my husband, friends, and son (Landon, age 4). My ‘at-home’ hobbies include reading books (historical fiction and sci-fi), cooking yummy and delicious meals (ideally 5 ingredients or less), and gardening in my yard (some flowers & veg are growing this year!)
I look forward to getting to know each of my students and families this year, regardless of the possible challenges. I believe we will have a strong productive year, as long as we stay true to our JFK values, mission, and P.R.I.D.E. standards.
