A word from our Principal:
JFK is the only public high school in Denver to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) as an option for all students in 9th and 10th grades and we are the only Denver high school to offer an authorized IB education for all grade levels.

The MYP is an option for all 9th and 10th graders, regardless of ability. MYP students receive a well-rounded education, learn a second language, participate in community service and gain an understanding of cultures around the world. The DP is designed especially for motivated 11th and 12th graders who plan to attend college. The challenging, two-year program is known for its demanding curriculum and global outlook. Coursework leads to an IB diploma that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.

JFK prepares all students for success in college and other opportunities after high school, and all students have the opportunity to earn free college credit during high school. We invite you to take a closer look at the overall highly esteemed IB philosophy and JFK. Inside this packet, you will fi nd information about IB, our school, our teachers and other programs– including Advanced Placement courses, unique academic choices such as pre-engineering and marine biology, student leadership opportunities, and more than 60 clubs and sports. Students throughout the metro area – from Denver to Lakewood to Littleton – are eligible to attend JFK. Transportation may be provided for students living in Denver. We hope these materials will help you decide whether JFK is the right fi t for you. Please don’t hesitate to call or email your questions. Senior Checkout and Late Start

Senior Checkout Day is Monday, May 14th. Graduating Seniors need to report to school by 7:30 am to checkout. All 9th, 10th, 11th graders will report to school at 8:30 am. Classes will start at 8:45 am.

Before and After School tutoring begins again today.

Before School: 
Mondays - Fridays: 6:45-7:15 am

After School: 
Mondays—Thursdays: 3:00-4:00 pm

All tutoring will take place in the JFK Power Library.

Pay School Fees Online: Is currently offline due to technical difficulties.

This year we are no longer using PaySchools for you to pay school fees online. Now you are able to pay all or some of your student's fees through the Parent Portal. Using the Parent portal you can pay one, some or all of the fees. In order to use this feature you must have a Parent Portal account. If you have an account from your student's previous school, this account is good for students at any DPS school. If you do not have a Parent Portal account you may come to the main office anytime to fill out the required paperwork (takes 5 minutes).

Farmers Insurance MVP Award Winners
We are excited to announce our first set of Farmers Insurance MVP Award Winners for the 2010-2011 Season. Fox Sports Net (FSN) will select from our list of winners, athletes to be featured/spotlighted through the school year. FSN may contact you if a student athlete from your school has been selected. Farmers Insurance MVP is a featured award program for the State of Colorado. It will run through the month of April so please continue to submit applications. One boy and one girl will be selected from our monthly winners to receive a Farmers Insurance/CHSAA $1,500.00 scholarship. Presented at the April Board of Control meeting. The program will continue through April so PLEASE continue to submit applications.
