Canned Food Drive

The Canned Food Drive kicks off this week on Tuesday. All donations will be collected during 2nd period.

Last year, in the fall, we collected 3,436 lbs of food which fed approximately 687 people in the JFK community.

FLU Shots

WE HAVE THE FLU VACCINE!! 

If you signed your student up for the Clinic : TELL YOUR STUDENT TO COME TO THE CLINIC FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE FLU NASAL SPRAY OR SHOT!!  WE WILL BE GETTING THE H1N1 vaccine soon. A separate permission form signed by a parent will be needed for the H1N1.  Keep checking here for updates and the date for H1N1 vaccine.  Call the clinic if you have questions at 720-423-4355. 

Craft Fair

The Commander Connection is pleased to announce it's first Art & Craft Fair scheduled for Saturday, November 21st from 9am - 5pm.  Invite your neighbours & bring your family - this is the perfect time & place to buy gifts for the holidays or just treat yourself!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Commander Connection needs volunteers to help at the Art & Craft Fair scheduled for Saturday, November 21st.  Students are encouraged to volunteer for the first shift starting at 7am to help setup & will receive community service time for volunteering.   Community & student volunteers are also needed for both the midday & late afternoon/tear down shift.  To volunteer please call Debby Gomez at 303-478-5279.

Kennedy CSAP scores for 2009 beat the district in 6 out of 7 areas and beat the State in 6 out of 7 areas!!

The Kennedy Counseling Department has been recognized by the American School Counselors Association as having a Model School Counseling Program. JFK is one of two Colorado high schools with this national designation!!!

Congratulations to the Kennedy Desktop Publishing team for finishing first in the District! the team consisted of Alyssa Maes-Chicado and Ashley Rodriguez. the team also placed 9th in the state competing against 2500 students from around Colorado. Thanks to Mrs. Rojo-Higgins!

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Baseball Team for defeating George Washington HS and winning the City Championship Friday.

Thanks to the Key Club Students who helped with the Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival on Saturday! The Henry World School was impressed with your enthusiasm and can do attitude.

Congratulations to the JROTC cadet comprehensive exam team for taking 1st place in the district!!

Congratulations to Terry Gonzales and her art students Dionisio Blan who won 1st place and Gabe Diaz who received Honourable Mention for their jewelry creations in the High School Art Exhibit. Also congrats go to Pauline Edwards and her art student Michael Krsnak who received 3rd place and Honourable Mention at the High School Art Exhibit.

Congratulations to Lisa Utrata and her art students Michael Krsnak and Acacia Seavane who received Honourable Mention at the First Plymouth 7th Annual High School Art Show.

Congratulations to the Robotics team for placing 3rd in the Colorado Regional's against 45 teams at the University of Denver!!

Congratulations to the John F. Kennedy Mock Trial Team.  This year they received multiple awards at the regional competition.  James Rubino: Outstanding Witness, Amanda Hernandez: Outstanding Lawyer and together the team received the highest award given: The Professionalism Award.  They secured a place to continue on at the state competition where James Rubino was once again recognized as an Outstanding Witness.

Congratulations to Coach Jasinowski and his Robotics Team on taking 2nd Place at the San Diego Regional’s! 

Congratulations to Coach Morrow and her students who took 1st Place in the Human Rights category and 2nd Place in Human Migration category at the World Affairs Challenge. 

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball team who made it farther in the State Playoffs than any other Kennedy team in recent memory!
