Hello, I am Sandra Lopez and I am the Affective Needs Center Based Teacher here at JFK. This is my second year at Kennedy, but my 19th year of teaching. I was born and raised in Denver. I am a DPS alumni as I attended Godsman Elementary, Kepner Middle School and I graduated from Lincoln High School. After high school I attended Metropolitan State University and obtained my Bachelors degree in Criminal/Juvenile Justice and Criminalistics. I worked many years in different youth residential treatment centers after I graduated. This prompted my decision to obtain my Master’s of Arts degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. My belief is that all students deserve someone who believes in them and I want to be that person for my students. I am a BIG family person and love spending time with my dogs.
