9th Grade Transitions Counselor

Biography

 Ibonne Pineda is the new 9th Grade Transitions Counselor. First semester, she will be supporting the successful transition of freshmen to high school. Her goal is that students are engaged in their learning, involved in our school community and achieving academically. During spring semester, Ibonne will be at the feeder middle schools to support our future students. She is excited to continue to work in the Southwest Denver community, and help build those connections from middle school to high school.

Ibonne’s past work experience is as a Middle School Counselor in Southwest Denver, and prior to that she was a Behavioral Therapist for students with disabilities. She received her Master’s degree in School Counseling from San Diego State University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a minor in Education and Applied Psychology, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ibonne is so happy to be joining the wonderful team at JFK, and to get to work with the new Commanders.
