CareerXplore: A career exploration program for our freshman students in the engineering, business, and med pathways. These are job site visits of 3-4 hours monthly during the school day that I coordinate for students in which they learn about a company, job shadow professionals, engage in hands on actives, take a tour, and enjoy a networking lunch. The goal is to provide at least one if not two opportunities per school year to EACH of our freshman allowing them to make real world connections with the content they learn in class by visiting job sites.
CareerCoach: A mentoring program targeting three cohorts of sophomore students who are matched with a 1-on-1 mentor for the year in the pathway of their choice (engineering, business, or med). These three cohorts of about 42 students have the opportunity to attend a once a month 3-4 hour conference alongside their mentor. In the conferences I cover career exploration opportunities through leadership style activities, public speaking and projects, resume building, letters or recommendation from industry partners, job site visits, job shadowing, interviewing adults, research, hands on actives, and college visits.
