A Message From The Principal

Dear Commander Families and Students,

Thank you to all the students who participated in the PSAT, SAT, and Science CMAS testing this week. Our students demonstrated Dedication and Excellence as well as a tremendous amount of flexibility and perseverance. I am proud of all that you have accomplished this week.

If you were unable to attend testing this week, we are mandated by the Colorado Department of Education to assess 95% of our student body whose guardians have not opted them out to participate in testing; therefore, we will be hosting makeup testing sessions for PSAT, SAT, and Science CMAS the week of 4/24/23. Students who need to attend these sessions will receive individual outreach from our site assessment leader, Gayla Power.

Huge shout out to all the families who attended conferences and the Senior Parent Information Night on Wednesday. Kudos to all the students who made smart choices and had a blast at our Masquerade Prom.

Safety continues to be our number one priority, please wear your IDs every day and follow our updated school safety protocols every day.

Have a Commander Kind of Weekend!

Congratulations Esports!!

On Wednesday, our JFK Varsity Super Smash Brothers team, the BOM Squad, defeated the Castle View High School Sabers in an upset, placing them in the top 16 contenders in the entire state (over 150 teams!) and securing their spot in the final elimination brackets in the CHSAA Smash Brothers Championship next Friday, April 21st at Local Host, a nearby venue for video game competition.

Please give a shout out to our Commander BOM Squad superstars and let them know you are rooting for them:

Meagan Kreinbrink (MVP)
Zackary Cole (Team Captain)
Lansen Jaramillo (The Ringer)
Katie Kreinbrink (substitute player/team manager)

Information about the Championship, including how to purchase tickets to the event, can be found here for anyone who wishes to follow along. They’re gonna bring it; let’s cheer them on all the way!

Attendance Matters!

Studies show that students who attend classes regularly are more likely to succeed academically, therefore, more likely to graduate and find good jobs.
