Dear Commander Community,

I am so excited to welcome you back after the Thanksgiving Break! I hope that you were able to find time to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with friends and loved ones. I am extremely grateful to be a part of this genuine, strong, and prideful community. Thank you for giving me the unique and life-changing opportunity to lead and grow beside you, as you take command of your future!

We understand that many of you may not have had a restful break; therefore, I want to remind you that there are so many ways to get support at Kennedy. Please check in with your advisor or a trusted adult if you are feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to. We also contact information and details about other supports offered at Kennedy HERE and HERE.

Just a reminder, we will be continuing with in person learning at Kennedy as long as it is safe to do so. Help us in keeping each other safe by following the protocols below and checking out health and safety guidance here.

Huge thanks to all the parents and students who participated in our Commander Conversation Focus Groups to work towards continuously improving our school. See slides 17-30 of this Commander Conversation deck to see the questions that we asked during these focus groups. Our Team will review all the data collected and identify concrete next steps for improving school culture and instructional practices through the lens of equity and inclusion. If you were unable to attend and would like to give feedback on any of the questions shown on these slides, please email me at tiffany_almon@dpsk12.net.

Have a Commander Kind of Week!
