Dear Commander Community,
Wow, what a week! Super Test Week ending with a power outage! Thank you to all students and families who showed great flexibility through this atypical week. We look forward to a “normal” week next week, with a regular schedule beginning with a Green Day on Monday. Be sure to log into Anchor Cohort each day this week to engage in lessons on developing PRIDE by digging deep into your identity and to learn more about Earth Day events.
Congratulations to those students who got back on track by utilizing their asynchronous time wisely, turned in missed assignments, revised work, and caught up on credit recovery courses. Huge shout out to those students who tried their very best on assessments this week and went the extra mile by meeting with Counselors, the Future Center, and teachers. When you utilize the tools that are provided to you, recognize your own talents and skills, and persevere, you are all capable of greatness!
If you did not opt out of the assessment and were unable to make the testing dates this past week, you will be sent an email to your DPS email this week with instructions on when and where you will be able to make up the PSAT and SAT from Gayla Power. PSAT makeups will be during the morning of 4/28 and SAT makeups will be during the morning of 4/27. There is another opportunity for Juniors to meet the competency graduation requirement (beginning for the class of 2022 and beyond) by taking the Accuplacer during the week of 5/3, details coming soon!
Thank you to all Seniors and Senior Families for your patience as we anxiously await our confirmed graduation date and venue. The district informed us that we will have confirmation on our Graduation venue and date on Monday the 19th by the end of the day. We know that our students will only be able to invite 2 guests, the event will be livestreamed for all other friends and family members, and the venue will be either Coors Field or Dick’s Sporting Goods field.
