Dear Commander Community,
As we close out the week, I am continuously reminded of how powerful making connections with each other can be, and how impactful it is when we work together. On Wednesday, we hosted around 50 people on the Senior Parent Night call and parents gave great suggestions for moving forward with Senior events. Another 20+ people jumped on the Town Hall meeting to learn about what is happening at Kennedy and provide suggestions for how we can provide a better experience for our Commanders. Thank you to everyone who participated. Students who signed up for the Principal’s Advisory Committee will receive an invitation to join me to provide input on the student experience, whether or not we are providing opportunities for students to embody the Kennedy vision, and how we can improve as a school. On Friday, our Seniors took their Senior Picture on Friday, and WOW it was really cool to see most of the Class of 2021 together and and connecting again. Additionally, I want to remind you that all students who chose in person are now welcome to come and learn in person all four days that we offer in person learning. Please continue to take advantage of the opportunities to connect and grow stronger together. If you would like to provide input on our Bell Schedule for next year, take this survey asap.
REMINDERS about next week’s schedule:
Our staff will be vaccinated on Monday 2/22/21; therefore we will have a fully remote and asynchronous day on 2/22/21. Your teacher has provided you with information regarding expectations for your independent learning on 2/22/21. To preempt staff experiencing side effects from the vaccine, we will have a fully remote day on 2/23/21 and we will follow the regular schedule. See the image below for a visual of this schedule:
We are also proud to announce that we are one of six schools in DPS that are partnering with COVIDCheck CO to provide FREE saliva test COVID testing to our JFK students twice a week. There were complications with the registration system, but it is up and running now. Please register your student, as testing begins this Thursday from 11am – 2pm in the JFK Room. Read the information below to learn more about how to sign up to receive a free COVID test here at Kennedy.
