Commander Communicator – Week of 1/11/21

Dear Commander Community,

Congratulations on completing your first week of semester 2! Teachers noticed an increase in engagement, students coming off mute and participating in discussions, 33 people logged in for the Wednesday Town Hall, and we ended the week with a dance party during Anchor Cohort. We are truly stronger together and when you attend and engage in your classes and participate in the online community building events we can connect with each other and the bonds of Commander nation become solid. Please read the following information carefully to learn more about our in person return:

  1. If you are not scheduled to return in person as shown by the schedule in the next bullet, you will continue to follow the remote learning schedule. If you chose in person, you will continue learning remotely until it is your turn to return as shown by the schedule. The in person schedule is identical to the remote schedule. In person and remote students are scheduled into classes together and teachers will be supporting all students with excellent instruction. We are ONE JFK no matter which option you chose

Wish Week: This year, instead of Wish Week, we are having Commander Contributions week from February 1-5. We will be fundraising for JFK's own Covid Relief Fund. We have planned to do events such as pie in the face, hair dying/shaving, and pennystalls. With the Covid-19 restrictions we have the safety of our students and staff in mind, while also trying to still put on events.
