Dear Commander Community, We are nearing the end of semester one and your period 1, 2, 3, and 4 courses. I continue to be blown away by the tenacity and heart that many of you have demonstrated throughout quite possibly the toughest semester of your educational career. I am proud of you for so many reasons and cannot wait to welcome you back into our brick and mortar school as soon as CDHPE makes the call for us to return to school. With that being said, be sure to check your email and be on the lookout for an opportunity to choose whether you would like to learn in person for semester 2 or stay remote. I do not yet have confirmation of when we will reopen in person, but I know that Principals have been asked to restart the planning for returning in person. I will give you updates on the return to in person as I receive them. Next week is Winter Wonder Cram during asynchronous time (8:30 to 10:30 am Monday through Friday). Commanders, ALL of your teachers will have their Meet links open during their asynchronous class time prepared to support you as needed. You can use this time to revise work, turn in missed assignments, meet with teachers, log into the Paper.co app to receive online tutoring support (this is available 24/7, not just during asynchronous time), and study for your finals. As I’ve been saying all week...TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME to get back on track or stay on track. The Class of 2021 must complete 24 units of coursework including 4 units of English and Math + ICAP. The Class of 2022 and beyond must complete 24 units of coursework, ICAP, and show competency in Math and English. See a full breakdown of graduation requirements here. Please reach out to your counselor if you are unsure if you are on track. Shout out to the parents who took the survey linked below and to the students who took the Principal’s Advisory Committee survey. Students, iIf you are interested in joining the Student Principal’s Advisory Committee, please complete this survey. Parents/guardians, please click here to take the survey, give feedback, and help us determine how to better connect with you. We are so much STRONGER TOGETHER! Have a Commander kind of week! |
