Return to In Person Learning Postponed

Good Morning Commanders,

Last night Superintendent Cordova announced that DPS Secondary Schools (middle and high) are delaying the return to in person learning until at least 11/9/20 EXCEPT for students who are in Center Based Programs like the Multi Intensive Program, the Multi Intensive Severe Program, and the Affective Needs Program who will return to in person learning at Kennedy on 10/21 if those students chose to return in person. See Supt. Cordova’s full message here.

We will continue to prepare for our students who chose in person learning to return on 11/9/20 by shifting to the Quarter 2 Schedule shown HERE beginning 10/21. Students will be scheduled into their in person or remote Anchor Cohorts for Warm Welcomes that begin at 8 am each day, attendance at Warm Welcomes is mandatory. We will continue to prioritize building relationships and making interpersonal connections, meeting the diverse needs of our students, and providing excellent instruction to prepare you for the college and/or career pathway of your choice.

If you have any questions about this whatsoever please attend our virtual town hall tonight during fall conferences here. Our leadership team will be available to address concerns from 5 to 6 PM so please feel free to join in between appointments with your student’s teachers. If you haven’t made appointments for conferences yet, you can do so here.

We appreciate your patience and we hope to see you all virtually tonight at fall conferences!

Thank you,
JFK High School
