Calling all Sophomores for our IB Info Session!

Did you know that John F. Kennedy High School is one of only 33 schools in Colorado, and one of only 3 schools in DPS to offer the IB Diploma Programme? It’s a distinction we’re proud of and one we hope to showcase more fully to our students, their families, and our community.

As an IB World School, Kennedy offers juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in IB classes. IB classes are unique in that they encourage students to be more balanced, active participants in their learning, and allow them to express their knowledge of the world in creative ways.

At Kennedy, becoming an IB Diploma candidate is the most prestigious and academically robust option a student can pursue. Not only are IB Diploma students viewed as being the most competitive applicants by colleges and universities, they leave high school as more well-rounded students who don’t just know things, but are confident in engaging with the world around them. Not to mention, IB courses have the potential to earn students up to a year’s worth of college credit!

We strongly believe that all Kennedy Commanders are capable of excellence and should have access to the opportunity to participate in the the IB Diploma Programme.

We’d like to invite you to attend an information session being held for current sophomores on Thursday, February 13th from 6-7 PM in the JFK Auditorium. You’ll hear more about what IB is, what it is not, and the direct benefits it has for students. RSVPs are not required, but helpful. We look forward to seeing you there!
