DPS Students are Accomplishing Great Things!

So proud of Jocelyn Gonzalez, a Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Semifinalist from our school John F. Kennedy High School and Trinity Birch from Denver School of Innovation & Sustainable Design – DSISD who were selected from 93,000+ applicants! They are the only two students in Denver Public Schools who made it as a Semifinalist!

Our Commander Jocelyn is President of National Honor Society and Commander of the Honor Platoon. She plays varsity soccer and speaks three languages. If awarded the scholarship, Jocelyn plans to use it to pursue a career in Architecture. Thanks to the Denver Scholarship Foundation for their support in her journey!

We also have another Commander who deserves highlighting. Our student, Brian Tran, is a finalist in the QuestBridge Scholars Network scholarship! Out of 14,926 applications only 5,842 students were selected. This is a BIG deal!

Brian is the Valedictorian, Vice President of Key Club and President of Diversity Club. He also speaks 3 languages! Outside of school, he has done volunteer work for Denver Osteopathic Clinic as well as the Denver Public Library.

He will be a first generation college student. If awarded the scholarship, Brian plans to pursue a career as a Physician.

Give it up for our Commanders! We can’t wait to see what these two accomplish as JFK Alumni.
