This week, the School Superintendents Association (AASA) visited Denver from Washington, D.C, to meet with a group of apprentices from John F Kennedy High School and Lincoln High School to learn more about the DPS CareerConnect Apprenticeship program.

The purpose of the meeting was to gather information about the program so that the AASA can create a toolkit to share with superintendents across the country who are interested in bringing the program to their school districts.  John F Kennedy Apprentices, Lorena Medina, Naarai Navarro, Sharon Avina-Nuñez and Natanael Navarro shared their experiences.

The AASA members were extremely impressed with our JFK apprentices’ professionalism and ability to juggle work, school, and extracurricular activities.
