Our mission at John F. Kennedy High School is to challenge all students to realize their full intellectual, emotional, and physical potential in an ever-changing global community.
Important Facts You Should Know About John F. Kennedy HS
- JFK is the only Denver Public School authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate
(IB) Middle Years Programme, grades 9 and 10 and the Diploma Programme, grades 11
and 12.
- We had our first International Baccalaureate Diploma Graduates May 2010.
- Over 85% of the Class of 2010 were accepted to and are currently attending the college
of their choice. A Graduate of the Class of 2010 was accepted to Harvard.
- From 2007 to 2010 our overall % of students Proficient or Advanced
increased in Reading by 13%!
- From 2007 to 2010 our overall % of students Proficient or Advanced
increased in Math by 9%!
- From 2007 to 2010 our overall % of students Proficient or Advanced
increased inWriting by 10%!
- JFK’s Colorado ACT scores indicating College Readiness continue to rise.
- The JFK Class of 2010 received over 2.3 million dollars in scholarships.
- Attendance is required of all students on a daily basis. Our overall school goal is 90% or
above for all students.
- Parent support is highly encouraged and valued. Parent Portal is a very useful tool to
help monitor your child’s attendance and grades.
- Our Collaborative School Committee (CSC) meets once a month and has openings for
Parent Representatives.
- Our Parent – Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2010 and
Tuesday, October 26, 2010.
